Top 100 Children's Books

     Several parents have asked me for a list of childen's books they can read to their child at home. I have attached a list of 100 favorite children's books and highlighted a few of my personal favorites.  Several of these titles are available from our school Media Center and also the Cobb Public Library System  has a great selection of children's literature.  Please remember to write all books read at home in your child's reading log located in your child's  BEE Binder                                               Download top_100_favorite_childrens_books.doc

Meet the Teachers

Mrs. Denison 

My name is Julie Denison and this is my seventh year teaching kindergarten at Austell Primary School.  I feel very fortunate to have a job that I love so much where I can work with such wonderul children and their families.   I have children of my own, two sons who keep me very busy.  My oldest son Cory is starting his sophmore year in college at Georgia Southeren and my youngest son Brian will be a Freshman at Georgia Southern as well. I am looking forward to  a fun and exciting school year full of learning and discovery for all of us!

Mrs. Smith

My name is Ann Smith and I have worked at Austell Primary School for 12 years.  I enjoy working with Kindergarten students and their parents.  I've been married for 29 years and I have three wonderful children.  Brittney is 25, Tiffany is 19 and Cory is 16.  I look forward to working with your children this school year.

Sight Word Power Point

Download kindergarten_sight_words_ppt.ppt on the computer!  After you download the power point, select the tool to play the slideshow.  Once the slideshow begins, the sight words will flash up on the screen for three seconds each.  This is a great way to do sight word drills at home!
