Our class is doing an outstanding job turning in 25 book reading logs this year. We are so excited that so many parents and students are reading at home, it really shows in the wonderful progress our class is making this year. Attached is the list of students who completed 25 book reading logs for the month of October. Download reading_logs_october.doc
We had a wonderful time on our field trip. The students were very excited to participate in all of the fun activities at the pumpkin patch. A special thanks to Christina's mom, Levi's mom, Zoe's mom and Wyatt's mom for joining us! I would also like to thank the whole class for all of the wonderful donations you made for the orange party. We had a great time eating and drinking orange things. I was very happy to see that most of the students in our class knew all of their orange sight words and got to attend the party. I hope everyone learns their green sight words and gets to attend the green party at the end of this nine week grading period.
For the past few weeks we have been working on the book Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. We have done many fun activities associated with this unit including making our own coconut trees! As the final part of our unit all of the students learned a section of the book to read. Click below to see our class presentation.
On October 15th our class will be going on our first field trip to the pumpkin patch. We will be sending home permission slips and money envelopes today. You will need to return your child's permission slip as soon as possible. The cost of the trip is $13. I know this may seem like a lot of money, but your child will be going on a hayride, picking a pumpkin, mining for gems, stuffing scarecrow, going on a nature walk and learning about Native American life. We are looking for chaperones for the field trip, unfortunately we will not be able to acommodate younger siblings.
