Dear Parents,

        We are trying to save resources at Austell Primary so I will be posting on the blog all the information that you need. I will be updating weekly so please check back to see what is coming up.  I will not be sending homework packets home on Monday. I will be sending a homework journal (recycled notebooks)  home with a monthly homework calendar. The students may bring in their journal on Friday for me to check. What comes around goes around because I remember doing this many , many years ago. Thank you for your co-operation in this matter.

Spring Fling

Don't forget our Spring Fling this Friday

April 17th from 4-7pm. There will be fun, food and games. Please remember to buy your tickets!

There will be beautiful  gift baskets that will be raffled off.  We are having a staff cake contest and a

cake walk. Please remember that students will not be allowed to attend without a parent.

Wednesday is Purple Day!

Please wear purple on Wednesday to support our Relay for Life Team. Teachers and staff are on the team that has been raising money for the American Cancer Fund. You do not have  to bring in a dollar.

Thank you Riley for all our plastic eggs! We will be having a spring egg hunt on Friday and then we will be using them for math word problems.If you could send in some wrapped  candy we would appreciate it.

Please remember that our Spring Fling is the Friday after spring break, Please plan on attending. We have sent home a new homework calendar for April. Please keep using the homework journal. I will still check them on Friday.

April Events

    We have many events in April. On April 2nd we will have our kindergarten community. Your student has been earning pennies to spend at the movies, cookie shop, candy shop, beauty shop, and our room will be the skating rink.

    On Friday April  3rd we will have a spring egg hunt with Mrs. Williams class. We would welcome donations of plastic eggs and wrapped candy.

    Our spring break will be from Monday April 6th   until April 10th. Our school will be closed during that time.

   Spring Fling will be on April 17th It is a great time  for families to have fun together. We will have booths and raffles, food and games. Please plan on buying tickets and come  between 4 and 7pm.

   Please do not forget our PTA meeting is this Thursday at 6:30.

Spring is Here!

Events in March

 Please remember our Dad's breakfast is on Friday March 20th. On Tuesday March 24th we will have a career program . On Thursday March 26th we will  have Careers on Wheels. Don't  forget our  PTA program on the 26th. It will feature our jump rope and  and tumbling  team  . It will also include a health fair.

Red Party

 We had a wonderful time at our red party!! Thank you to all parents who sent in "red" goodies. We had red velvet cupcakes, Hawaiian punch, twizzlers, grapes ,apples ,Doritos and much more for our party. Some of our students know all of their "blue " sight words already.

March News

March 12th is the end of our grading period. Our report cards will be sent home on March 19th. Please look for them in your student's backpack. March 11 th was the end of the third AR recording period. We will start a new period on Monday March 16th.

We will have career days at the end of the month.We will have guest speakers. Please look for more info to come. Our "red" party celebration will be on Friday , March 13. New "blue " sight words will be coming home on that day.

Thank you for adapting to our new homework  journal. I think it has been a sucess!
