SUMMERTIME!

I am so blessed to have been given the opportunity to work with a fabulous group of 14 young minds.  Thank you for such a wonderful year.

This summer I will be spending a great deal of time with my grandson, trying some new recipes, catching up on some good reading materials, working in the yard, and playing with my family. My husband and I will be taking our family on vacation with us for a week long stay at the beach. I look forward to playing with my grandson on the beach and taking long walks in the early morning. My family will also enjoy spending time together  watching NASCAR races. (Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon are my drivers.)

I hope that each of you will make time to spend with your families. Join the summer reading club at the Sweetwater Valley Library. Mrs. Lester will be glad to help you select some age appropriate books that you will enjoy. I hope you each have the opportunity to fulfill your summer dreams that you shared with your peers in class.

You have been a wonderful class who has taught me so much. Kevin, Andrew, Tyreek, Vanessa, Jazmin, Walter, Prince, Hailey, Shawn, Meagan, Mikaila, Lewis, Brianna and Keaton, you are all very smart and well behaved. Continue to do your best in school. I will always remember you fondly, and the fun times we had learning new concepts.

Much love, Mrs. Warren

Please afford me this opportunity to thank you for allowing me to be a part of your child's life. Being a parent, I am aware of the concerns you may have sending your child off to spend the day with a group of adults you hardly know. Please be assured your child will be loved and well cared for while he or she is at school. Our school staff consist of a qualified group of caring adults who love children.

The climate in my classroom is one of caring, postive comments, encouraging words, smiles and lots of hugs. I enjoy celebrating your child's accomplishments. My greatest reward is to see an ah-ha moment when the "light comes on" for the first time about a new concept I am sharing.

I am blessed to have the privilege to do for a living what I am passionate about....working with children to help them become responsible, caring, intelligent individuals.

I am grateful for your support, and value your willingness to work with me in assuring your child reaches his or her academic goals.

Mrs. Warren's Mantra

"If you do what you've always done, you'll be where you've always been."

(I love to collect quotes, and this is by far my favorite one. This quote is special to me because I believe we should never become complacent with where we are in life. It is imperative to our well being to continue learning and not fear change, but rather welcome it.)

About the Teacher

I have been married for 30 years to Mr. Warren. Together, we enjoy home projects, decorating, building things, working in the yard, and going to the mountains for weekend get-aways. We have two grown daughters, Leslie and Beverly. Leslie is an incredible third grade teacher and vocalist. Beverly is married to Doug, and is a successful business woman who has been allowed the fortunate opportunity to be a stay at home mother. They have a beautiful son named Lawson, born April 12, 2007. Lawson is our first grandchild. He is one of my greatest loves in life. In my spare time I enjoy cooking, gardening, exercising, reading, writing short stories, spending time with my family, and watching NASCAR. Our children come home on Sundays to eat and watch the race with us. This is a very special time when we hang out and have fun together.

I attended Mercer University where I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education. I continued my education by attending Lesley University, where I earned a Master's Degree in the Curriculum and Instruction of the Creative Arts.  Lastly, I attended Lincoln Memorial University and earned an EdS in Administration and Supervision. I am an advocate for lifelong learning for everyone, no matter what age.  Knowledge is power!

I love teaching school and helping students reach their academic goals.
